Coffee Beans!

This pair of quilt top pot holders are constructed using cotton calico fabric, cotton batting, and a layer of muslin. The tops are machine-quilted using a vintage 1955 Singer 319W, one of the first zig-zag machines Singer ever made. These “mini quilts” are cut to size, then sandwiched with a layer of Insulbrite (to wick heat away from your hands), and finished with sturdy denim.  Loops are added for hanging.

The final construction of these pot holders are completed with a vintage 1960 Italian-made Necchi Lelia 513 sewing machine. This machine belonged to Susabelle’s mother, Pam, and was used to sew many of her childhood clothes. It is the machine that Susabelle learned to sew with.

These pot holders are sturdy, washable, and will last a lifetime.  No two pairs alike, truly unique!
